OT believers by Christ alone?

I read the following:

Everyone ever saved is saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (Rom 4).

I'm not sure I understand this. Romans 4 doesn't mention Jesus until the end, and it is done so "for us", which appears to mean the believers Paul was writing to at present. How can that refer to OT believers? How were they saved by Christ alone? Perhaps this discussion should take place on another page (e.g. salvation, or Christ alone), but after reading that I really scratched my head. JordanBarrett (talk) 15:26, 10 April 2006 (EDT)
