Talk:Mosaic authorship of the Pentateuch
From Theopedia
I believe I agree with the overall thrust. But let's include the following points in the article, so no-one mistakenly thinks we are unaware of them. 1) The text itself (at least of the V) makes no claim to Mosaic authorship (and after all we presumably do not want to set church or rabbinnic tradition per se, above the text.) 2) Few would claim that Moses authored every word himself without any redaction. To do so is to believe after all that he described his own death and burial (Dt 34). (NB also all the references to Moses in the 3rd person.) Atorrens 17:55, 31 January 2006 (EST)
- Agreed. I have not yet gotten there (I started this article 3 days ago). Please add more to this, especially because it sounds as though you have dealt with this topic/issue more than I have. It definitely needs more content. JordanBarrett (talk) 18:29, 31 January 2006 (EST)
Actually, that's about it unfortunately! Didn't realise the article was quite so new. Thanks for your work. If I can find the time, I'll try to work some of the comments in. Atorrens 20:37, 31 January 2006 (EST)
