Audio

The audio wasn't misplaced, I removed it (see my comment about "swapping" the audio). We can't list every YouTube or MP3 we find and I felt that the audio I found should be listed over the early 1990's YouTube material. You can voice your opinion if you feel otherwise, but hence the "undo". Jordan Barrett (talk) 04:02, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

I've watched these 5 videos from the 1990's and their contents remain informative, valuable, and accessible, expressing the original motivations behind the book Agony of Deceit in Horton's own speech. This 1990 book is Horton's most widely held book amongst libraries (see Worldcat shows 326 libraries holding this title) and hence arguably his most notable intellectual contribution to date. As the wikipedia slogan goes: notability doesn't expire. Moreover, the argument "to swapp" them with something pertaining to his more recent Christless Christianity work seems somewhat of an informal fallacy (e.g., a false dilemma) rather than an editorial necessity. Both can be included in the media section. All the same, Worldcat shows 145 libraries holding Christless Chirstianity, which suggests that this work remains less widely known. --RickD 09:22, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
RickD, it's not a good idea to list ever single audio file we come across. This makes the list overly long and in the way of the rest of the article's content. I feel it's already pushing it's limit, so which audio/video do you recommend we remove for the Agony videos? A few other comments: I imagine that most libraries carry this book since it was written 19 years ago. Give his other books time to reach "notability". Second, all the libraries in the world can carry a book, but if no one reads it then who cares? 300+ libraries carrying a book hardly equals "most notable contribution to date" to me, although I still understand how you arrived at that conclusion. Whether I committed a fallacy in my "swap" is irrelevant. I had a preference and made a decision, there wasn't a ton of thought that went into nor did I feel I had "arguments" to support it. Anyways, back to the bottom line: what would you propose we remove to make room for the videos? We can go from there. Jordan Barrett (talk) 18:55, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
Jordan, what would you think about locating the links to these Agony of Deceit-related media files under the book citation itself or perhaps in an exteral links section towards the bottom of the page? --RickD 17:40, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Sounds like a plan. Either one works for me. Jordan Barrett (talk) 21:40, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
