Should the audio from the Attributes of God article stay there or move here? JordanBarrett (talk) 05:31, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

Grace of God page

Grace of God is a wanted page, 4 links. There is an excellent page on Grace which deals extensively with God's grace. It seems to make more sense to change the links from Grace of God to Grace rather than create an entirely separate page on Grace of God. So that's what I did. Evangelion 07:30, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

A redirect makes more sense. Evangelion 07:40, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
Agreed - good call. JordanBarrett (talk) 14:55, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Structure

Would it be too much to give to a list a little structure? Add any discussion/ideas below. --Alex Woehr 16:37, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

  1. Communicable/uncommunicable
Does it make sense to structure a page about God according to characteristics of man? --Alex Woehr 16:37, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
  2. Entity which the attribute has reference to (see bullets)
    • Himself: impassable, infinite, simple, holiness(arguable), self-sufficient
    • Creation in general: eternal (arguable), all-wise, all-knowing, immaterial, sovereign
    • Moral agents: good, loving, merciful, just, freedom
Some are arguable. --Alex Woehr 16:37, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

I would agree that we need some structure to the list, and I think that'll probably mean choosing a popular classification of attributes that doesn't satisfy everyone. -Aaron Shafovaloff 20:13, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

I personally dislike the incommunicable/communicable as can be seen on the Classification of the attributes of God article. If you look at the categories I created a long time ago, I tried to classify them under areas like God's power, space and time, etc. That was a rough list, and is definitely up for improvement and suggestions.
The other question that comes into play here is do we want to go through all of the attributes from a philosophical (i.e. metaphysical) standpoint? How much negative theology do we want to involve? E.g., does God have no limits/boundaries, or does he overcome all boundaries (or both)? Jordan Barrett (talk) 03:31, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Maybe a safer way to way to word it: God is limited only by His infinite perfection. --Tom 03:50, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
I see where you are going, but I'd rather avoid asserting negatives about God unless Scripture does so (e.g. God cannot lie). Jordan Barrett (talk) 07:14, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
