Talk:Jesus Christ
From Theopedia
Removed text:
Christ is a hebrew term meaning "Messiah" or savior. Thus, true to His name, the role of Christ in the Christian faith is that of savior.
Not true. Christ comes from the Greek, and the corresponding term from Hebrew is Messiah.
The Greek term for saviour is sotar, as in Iesus Christos Theo Huios Sotar, Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour, often abbreviated ichthus (sorry about the bad transliterations, I don't have a Greek font easily available). Andrewa 06:50, 12 Jun 2005 (EDT)

[edit] Person and Nature
Somewhere, and somehow, we'll need to make sure that either people understand the terms "nature" and "person" clearly, or we need to stop using them (which I personally vote against). These can be just as confusing as using terms like "eschatology". Thoughts? JordanBarrett 14:59, 2 Nov 2005 (EST)
- Agreed. -Aaronshaf 15:00, 2 Nov 2005 (EST)
[edit] States of Christ
It might be good to have a section/article on the "States of Christ" [1]. [2]. Names. Offices. States. -Aaronshaf 15:18, 31 May 2006 (PDT)
- It may prove fruitful to at least have a redirect, or make it the main page with the others redirected to it. Which ever is most searched. JordanBarrett (talk) 16:30, 31 May 2006 (PDT)
[edit] Introduction
We need some more information in the introduction to communicate the significance of the doctrine of Christ in Christianity. Here's a start:
- The doctrine of Christ is the lynchpin doctrine of Christianity.
