Problems with Gilley

The problem with Gary Gilley is that he believes that the Holy Spirit does not communicate with Christians at a personal level. IE, if you have the idea that the Holy Spirit is urging you to some action, you are mistaken. In my opinion, this is a "God is Dead" theology or at best a "God as Watchmaker" theology. He admits that he in the minority for holding this position. I would go further and state that what he is teaching is in error and is a form of Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit which is an unforgivable sin. Think this through. If the Holy Spirit does not communicate to living people today, how are people convicted of sin? How are people called to missions? How are pastors called to ministry? Do they just wake up one day and think its a good career choice? If so, how in the world can you follow someone who admits that they have no leading from the Holy Spirit?

Sorry, but this guy is wrong. — unsigned comment by 24.118.18.125 (talkcontribs)

You are welcome to your opinion. I doubt some of the claims you make. However, it does not mitigate against an article on him at Theopedia. Jim Ellis 11:42, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
