Consistency
Please excuse me from getting picky, but my personality is to have order, consistency, and keep it that way. The move seems to have been done to make "councils" lower-case. Why? By my own opinion I think all articles and sections should have all caps unless using words like "of" or "the" and the obvious. To me a section looks better in caps, along with the title of an article. However, there's little consistency and when I'm making linkes to other pages with brackets I can't tell what's capitalized and what's not. Can we come up with a plan? - Pardon me if I'm causing trouble. I created a page for "Ecumenical councils" today -- if there was an existing page (with Cap both words) I didn't see it. I just noticed that Aaron redirected to my new page. The habit of Caping only the first word (unless its a proper name) is a spill-over from Wikipedia. It's a shame that searches here appear to be case sensitive, so its easy to miss an existing page for that reason. Can we modify the search mode to disregard case? I agree we need consistency. Sorry. - I wrestled with this when Theopedia started and ended up following suite with Wikipedia, which generally leaves titles uncapitalized unless it's a proper noun. Seems like a good standard. "Can we modify the search mode to disregard case?" Not sure, I don't think so. -Aaronshaf 13:37, 28 Sep 2005 (EDT)
- Wikipedia is not consistent either. But if we can agree, that's what counts here. :-) So, let's Cap first letter of first word only -- except for proper names that are normally capped. This should be the same scheme for titling the sections and sub-sections in an article. Gomarus 13:50, 28 Sep 2005 (EDT)
Will do. JordanBarrett 14:11, 28 Sep 2005 (EDT)
