Needs more clarification

I came across the sentence, "First, they say that Christ's death is not merely potential. It is actual for those who are elect," under the section common misunderstandings. I tried to clean it up some, but I still feel this section will confuse many who read it. The whole talk of "potential" and "actual" either needs to be ditched or clarified. I honestly didn't get what the whole point was or what the "potential" and "actual" stuff was trying to say or I'd make an attempt. JordanBarrett 12:56, 12 December 2005 (EST)

Aaron added this section, so I will defer to his comments. But I agree that there is some clarification needed. I also have a little problem with the name dropping (Piper, Packer, Grudem, etc.) without cited references -- I'm not sure all these hold the position Aaron claims. I also have a problem with the statement that "taken at face value" 1 Tim. 2:6 means a certain thing when in my view it could mean that if "taken out of context."
