Talk:Cessationism
From Theopedia
Since this topic if being debated on some popular blogs, it might be wise to ride the wave. -Aaronshaf 11:22, 11 November 2005 (EST)
- I personally am weary about riding the wave. I find this to be an issue that doesn't deserve the kind of attention it always gets. I believe it to be a distraction from the more essential and primary doctrines/things of God that we should be devoting our minds and energy towards (that's not saying we shouldn't devote time and energy to this article on Theopedia). So, maybe I'm not one to help out on this article. :) If I did, I would outline the views, and then downplay the importance it is usually given, which honestly is probably not good. Don't get me wrong, where one stands on this does have implications, and I'm not saying this is of no importance. I guess I just get sick of the endless debates. - I totally understand. -Aaronshaf 12:43, 11 November 2005 (EST)
- Perhaps we could write something up though that makes people go, "hmmm... I should show more love to my charismatic/cessationist brother. And this isn't an issue of life or death." Maybe this means we should work on the unity article instead. :) JordanBarrett 12:51, 11 November 2005 (EST)
