I'm wondering if we should make this Help page have a list of FAQ or things similar to that. It doesn't feel very, well, helpful. Thoughts? JordanBarrett (talk) 17:23, 15 March 2006 (EST)

I agree. one thing that will attract more people is if it is easy to get started with the wiki, and there is good help available. Good content doesn't matter without good help. --Tom 18:55, 15 March 2006 (EST)

[edit] Time to organize

Somewhat similar to my above comment (along with Tom's), I'd like to figure out what help pages we want and don't want. I'll try and put a "master" list of all the so-called help pages. Some have names in which are (or sound) sysnonymous. I think this proves confusing and that we should have a main help page whether that's Theopedia:Help, or whatever. Lets just agree on something, get it organized, user-friendly, etc...

Not all of these need to be deleted or integrated into other articles, but this way we can have a birds-eye view, so to say, of what pages we have. From here we can talk about what we want to keep (e.g., I wouldn't want to get rid of "Why Reformed", but it may be good to link to it in our help pages). I may miss stuff too, so if you find something else, add it to the list. JordanBarrett (talk) 12:09, 20 March 2006 (EST)

It might be helpful if we divided the pages into two heads: how to edit pages, and policy for editing pages. So the Writing Guide, Why Reformed? and How to contribute are all matters of policy, while the others deal more with the practicalities of editing pages. Gives me an idea for the two heads: Praxis and Doxis.  : ) I just made a list of templates to try and bring some semblance of order to our templating, so that when people make general-use templates (as all of them ought to be) we know about it; of course, that requires people knowing that part of policy is to log the creation of a new template for the benefit of everyone else. [edit] Needs a revamp

Read the above comments. I really think these need to go into practice here on this article. To be honest, I think this "help" article is pretty weak, yet an essential part of the wiki. Does anyone else agree or have any other thoughts? JordanBarrett (talk) 04:56, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

yeah, as it is it looks more like a welcome note than help... --Tom (t|c|w) 04:58, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
